Get Up! And stop waiting.

In the spirit of not wasting time, I’m just going to say it:
If you want change, you need to act. You need to get up and do something about it (I say this with so much love <3).
Because here’s the tea…what you do today, creates your tomorrow.
If you continue *thinking* about the change you want to make or the results you wish you had, tomorrow you will be in the same place. Just thinking.
…I wish I was 10 lbs lighter.
…I wish I was more present with my family.
…I wish I wasn’t so tired all of the time.
…I wish I made more money.
…I wish my partner and I were on the same team.
…I wish I lived somewhere else.
…I wish I wasn’t alone for the holidays this year.
…I wish I didn’t feel responsible for EVERYTHING.
…I wish I wasn’t so reactive.
…I wish I wasn’t so overwhelmed and stretched.
And so on.
Except your brain is going to start doubling down by adding subconscious fear to the equation. And all the fear does is immobilize us.
The secret sauce here is to combine the thinking with a decision. A decision to act. And then follow through with it.
The follow through will be fueled by what I call your “compelling reason”. Your compelling reason has to be SO strong that there is no other option but to get up, get movin’ and do the damn thing. Because life is is happening right now and the one you’re living isn’t doing it for you in one area or another.
The first thing you come up with as '“the compelling reason” is typically only a “shitty first draft” (Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert). This is the tip of the iceberg. Go deep and pull out the fears living underneath the shitty first draft. THAT, my friend, is the compelling reason.
So, let’s go. Waiting and thinking keep you stuck. Decisions and action break you free.
Think. Decide. Act. Now is all there ever is.
